SAINSBURY'S WINE STORE IN CALAIS TO CLOSE
Sadly, Sainsbury's have announced that they are to close their Calais store on 30th June 2010.
Although they will remain open until that date, they recommend that potential visitors phone them on 0800 636 262 to check upon stock availability.
From 1st October 2008 all drivers in France, including drivers of vehicles registered outside of France, must have one warning triangle and one reflective jacket in their vehicle.
This regulation,
which we understand does not apply to two and three wheeled vehicles, will
be enforced with on-the-spot fines of between €90 and €135.
Hoverspeed ceased operations on the Dover - Calais route on the 7th November
2005. Click

SeaFrance have asked passengers to arrive at the port at least one hour before they would normally plan to. This is to take account of the extra security measures now in place. This is, of course, important information for people travelling on day return or afternoon tickets, as it could reduce the amouint of time you can spend in France.
We are pleased to inform our visitors
that Boozers has re-opened under new management. It is open 7 days a week from
0900 - 2100 hrs. Full
details will soon be available on this site in our Calais section. For now,
take advantage of their free wine gift voucher.
