dim very nice!!!
Helen Just wanted to tell you how useful I found this site. Came across some others on the net, but many seem to just fill their pages with self praise and congratulation. You site is different. Uncluttered and very easy to find all the information I needed. Thanks, you made my first trip very easy - directions were clear and the voucher idea is brilliant. Just one thought - what about some more prices?

Admin: Thanks for your kind comments Helen. I'm glad we were able to help.

We believe that it is healthy for Internet users to have a variety of sources, so competition between sites is healthy. We certainly do not get into the mode of criticising others. We do, however, try to be different, in that we focus on what we believe our visitors want to see. Self-praise as you call it, has no value, so we rely on people such as yourself to feed back to us.

As to your suggestion re. prices, we are looking into a way of providing accurate, information for our visitors, but as prices change so frequently, this is not easy. We will continue to investigate this.

Thanks again for your comments

Fantastic site!!!! We are, Aussie girl (who can't read maps) and Yorkshire lad (who likes to think he can) about to embark on our first ever Booze Cruise. Your site was a fab introduction to what will probably become a regular outing to stock up, if we survive the map fights. Thanks guys!!!! PS- Love the coupon idea

Just found the site and having been across both on "booze cruise" and holidays would say well done! What I would add is take a little time to shop around, you will find many different offers in the various outlets, do go and look in the local shops/supermarkets as well. Finally if you are making a day trip out of your visit buy the odd bottle or two of what looks intresting and drink them with your days meals, we have found some good cheap buys this way.

Thank you very much for your site. Wonderful idea - loved the promotional vouchers that you have for print as well. We go to France for our booze about four times a year and get excited about the money that we save. The only things that we are looking for now when we travel are some good resturants!!! I would advise anyone who wants to go to Calais to take advantage of the Seacat - a faster way to get across the water - you can get there in under an hour, giving you more time to explore all of those wine warehouses. Book on the net for the best deals. Last weekend - we wnt for £49 - which includes five people plus one car. Can't say fairer than that. Enjoy!!

Hi Mike. If you check on all the Calais pages, you'll find a link to a sketchmap. Make sure that you have not disallowed popups, as the map opens in a new (slightly smaller) window.

If you fancy a good meal whilst on a boze Cruise I suggest the Blanc Nez in Sangatte, it's superb!!

We have just returned from our first every booze-cruise to Calais. Armed with information from this site, we visited several different outlets. We started with Cheers where the staff were outstandingly helpful (in particular, manager Ray) but didn't buy there initially since we wanted to go elsewhere to compare prices.

However, having checked out the competition, including East Enders and the newly taken-over Majestic, we returned to Cheers. They were the only people who were quite willing to let us taste anything we wanted, including the very inexpensively priced and excellent Champagne, which was just as well since we were in the market for 8 dozen bottles for a party.

Cheers state they are the "best kept secret in Calais" and they are absolutely right. Fantastic service and fantastically good bargains. We couldn't rate them highly enough.

Really good site. What would be really useful is a layout for the major hypermarkets - this would save some time locating certain shops for those on a tight schedule.

It would be very helpful to buyers if the suppliers quoted prices of popular items, for comparaison. The buyer could save a lot of time/money going to the most competitive supplier.

French beer by the van load may be cheap but what about the ambience of a British bar, a pint of mixed served slightly warm, and a beautiful oriental bar maid?

This is a novel and useful site . Those who initiated it clearly have an understanding of the finer things in life. But do the French supermakets stock Banks'? And what about Downies pies?

Havn't booze-cruised as yet but will be shortly. Great little site, full of useful information (which I've been trying to find elsewhere, but couldn't) - thanks very much. One small point, if you are able to incorporate links to the company sites so much the better. Who knows, they may even pay!

I agree with Trevor. I bought 30 bottles of Stella for a fiver at Auchan! But I think the best selection is to be found at Eastenders - they've got wine from all over the world. Can't wait to go back to France to check out some more of your featured stores.
