About Us - why use booze-cruise.net?

Booze-cruise.net is a passionately independent organisation. We are in communication  with a number of the outlets we feature in order to ensure that our information is accurate. BUT, the reviews are ours and we do not seek or allow input from the outlets, except where it is clearly stated on the page. We receive no direct income from the booze outlets we feature.

Visitors tell us that our site is attractive and well-designed. Navigation is clear, and it is easy to find what you want. Although the site is welcoming and colourful, it is quick to load and pleasing to the eye.

All parts of the site are personally designed, allowing us full editorial control over the content of the site. This includes our message boards.

5/ SERVICES TO VISITORS

Our Forum (The Saloon Bar) is designed to enable our visitors to ask and answer questions about booze-cruising. Ii can also be used to sound off about a booze-cruising problem. Unlike similar websites, our forum is moderated to ensure that all our visitors can feel free to take part. It is not a chat room, but a vehicle for people to ask questions, make suggestions and identify issues which may be of interest to other booze-cruisers.

Our 'Best Buys' section helps our visitors share information about the numerous bargains to be had in France.

We have recently launched our brand new Newsletter - 'Booze-News'. Visitors are invited to subscribe to the newsletter which will be published occasionally, to help publicise developments and special offers.

We have an accommodation section, for those booze-cruisers from further a field, who would like to stay overnight in Dover before and/or after their crossing.

Our new Mobile (WAP) Service allows users to access selective information while on the move, using a WAP enabled mobile phone.

7/ THE COMPETITION

We believe that competition is healthy, but we believe that booze-cruise.net goes that little bit further.

Unlike some other cross-Channel shopping sites, booze-cruise.net:

• is regularly updated
• is comprehensive
• is uncluttered, with the information easy to find
• does not charge the outlets for 'enhanced' listings - all our listings are enhanced (why pay for what you can get free of charge?)
• does not bombard visitors with facts and figures regarding hits etc, which can be misleading anyway
• is interactive; allowing visitors to contribute to the site's content (forum, best buys, guest book and the new opinion poll)
• offers real-time help to our visitors via our metric/imperial conversion tool, our currency converter and our vehicle loading and Customs allowance calculator
• ensures that our forum is 'lean' and of real value to visitors, by prohibiting:
  • Advertising;
  • Foul language;
  • Offensive comments;
  • Feuds;
  • General chit-chat which is of little help to anyone, other than to boost the egos of those taking part;
  • Web links, unless of genuine assistance to our visitors
